How to Install Tally ERP 9 with GST Features
Tally ERP 9 is a popular business management software that helps you manage accounting, inventory, taxation, payroll, and more. Tally ERP 9 also supports GST (Goods and Services Tax) features that enable you to comply with the GST rules and regulations in India. Step 1: Download Tally ERP 9
You can download the latest version of Tally ERP 9 from the official website or from Tally Solutions. The file size is about 150 MB and it is an executable file. You can choose between the 32-bit or 64-bit version depending on your system configuration. However, if you have a 64-bit Windows operating system, you can also install the 32-bit version of Tally ERP 9 by using the command prompt.
Step 2: Run the Setup File
After downloading the setup file, double-click on it to start the installation process. You will see a welcome screen that asks you to select the language for installation. You can choose between English and Hindi. Click Next to continue.
On the next screen, you will see the license agreement. Read it carefully and click I Accept to agree to the terms and conditions. Click Next to continue.
On the next screen, you will see the installation options. You can choose between Typical Installation or Custom Installation. Typical Installation will install Tally ERP 9 with all the default settings and features. Custom Installation will allow you to change some settings and features according to your preference. The installation process will take a few minutes. You will see a progress bar that shows you the status of the installation. Once the installation is complete, click Finish to exit the setup wizard.
Step 3: Activate Your Tally ERP 9 License
After installing Tally ERP 9, you need to activate your license to use it. You can activate your license as a single-site account or a multi-site account depending on your requirement. A single-site account allows you to use Tally ERP 9 on one computer only. A multi-site account allows you to use Tally ERP 9 on multiple computers within a local area network (LAN).
To activate your license, follow these steps:
Open Tally ERP 9 from your desktop or start menu.
On the startup screen, click Activate License .
Enter your Tally.NET ID and password and click Login . If you do not have a Tally.NET ID, you can create one by clicking Create Account .
Select Single Site or Multi Site as your account type and click Continue .
Enter your serial number and activation key that you received when you purchased Tally ERP 9 and click Activate .
You will receive an unlock key on your registered email address. Enter the unlock key and click Unlock License .
Your license activation is complete. Click Start Using Tally ERP 9 .
Step 4: Enable GST Features in Tally ERP 9
To use GST features in Tally ERP 9, you need to enable them in your company settings. To do this, follow these steps:
Open Tally ERP 9 and select your company.
Press F11 (Features) and select Statutory & Taxation .
Set Enable Goods & Services Tax (GST) to Yes .
Enter your GSTIN (GST Identification Number) and other details such as state name, registration type, period of applicability, etc.
